There is one Court Reporter in the 8th Judicial District. The Reporters’ office is located in Geary Counties. The Reporter travel within the District to take verbatim records through the operation of a stenotype machine. The Reporter prepares transcripts of proceedings upon request. Requests for transcripts of proceedings recorded by a Court Reporter should be directed to the Reporter who was in attendance at the hearing in question.

There are two Court Transcriptionists employed by the 8th Judicial District. Both are located in Morris County. Upon request, they prepare transcripts of electronically recorded court proceedings. Hearings recorded electronically are preserved through the use of digital recording. Transcripts may be purchased by contacting the Clerk of the District Court of the appropriate county within the Judicial District. The Clerk will provide an estimate of the cost, this must be paid before the transcript is prepared.
