IIf the jury trial you are to report for indicates that it is currently going as scheduled,
you will need to check back again after 5:30 p.m. the evening before you are scheduled to appear. If it says going as scheduled,
you need to report for jury duty.
Jury Trial Status |
Checking Status by Phone
Jury duty status could change after 5:30 p.m. on Friday for Monday jury trials, and if so, it would not necessarily be accurately reflected on this website. However, the message on the phone line (785-762-5221, Option 1) will be accurate after 5:30 p.m. the evening before the scheduled jury trial. So for Monday jury trials that indicate they are going as scheduled, please be sure to call Sunday evening after 5:30 p.m. or early Monday morning to determine if you still need to appear.
You may also call 785-762-5221, Option 1, after 5:30 p.m. the evening before you are scheduled to appear for jury duty. If there is no answer or no message about your appearance date, you should appear. When a cancellation has taken place, a message will be placed on the answering service for your information.
Active Duty
If you are on active duty and deployed outside the State of Kansas, that needs to be indicated on your juror questionnaire, as well as the date you will return, and then mailed in. (Another person may complete the questionnaire for you. They just need to indicate they are completing it for you and provide their name, address, and phone number on the questionnaire.)
Not a County Resident
If you are no longer a Geary County resident, please indicate that on your juror questionnaire and return it as requested.
